In general, my works explores the relationship between good and evil.
I've always been fascinated by the classical battle between the forces of good and of evil, darkness and light.
Here are few examples of contemporary films that inspired my work recently: The Passion of the Christ, Dracula Untold, Narnia, Batman vs Superman. In all this stories the main character dies but it cannot be held captive by death and evil, and in the end the good prevails, and the hero comes back to life. Not only the idea of good conquering evil, but the example of the main characters is what inspires me.
There is an old Cherokee proverb about two wolves that live within us and are always at fight: one is good and the other is bad. The one who wins is the one you feed.
Healthy food nourishes the body, but this is not enough as we also have an inner self that is asking for his share. That's what art is for... music, books and good movies that are instructive and inspiring in the same time.
My goal is to develop my skill and find the inspiration I need to be able to translate on paper the inner visions that I see and the message they carry.
I became aware that one important factor that plays a major role in this sense, is the relationships that we have, make and develop, the people we surround ourselves with.
In life our journey might take us through beautiful green valleys, mountain peaks, but then we might come across a dessert or a dark narrow tunnel where the voices tell us that this is it, we won't come out of there ever again. Is that moment when we need to stand firm and resist and hang on and fight back and hear a friend encouraging us and pushing us up not down, and feed the white dog some faith that he will be stronger and conquer the battle.
Ever since I was a child, drawing has been a part of my life, something that I felt was captivating and fulfilling in the same time. I feel a sense of relationship with my work which is part of my daily life and this makes me feel a sense of identity and belonging. My art is like a mirror to my soul. I am passionate and perfectionist in the same time which makes it difficult for the ideal concept in my mind to be satisfied. I am always striving to do better and achieve more precise, more creative works of art.
I like to do both abstract and figurative painting, using both oils and acrylics. First I like to draw my image and then to play on it with colors. For my abstract paintings, I use mostly three colors, white, black and gold. I actually don t paint, but I rather build and mold my images to give birth to my vision on canvas or paper. My paintings are offering a sense of duality or antagonistic relationship, between good and evil; black and white, but in some cases the two are complementing each other, running together in a never ending race.
There are times when I feel I have to stop just to learn better. And then start again. Fresh.
I think is important to follow your dream, but not more than the Dream Giver :)
